Bucknell University, Comprehensive Campus Master Plan
Lewisburg, PA | 2008
This Master Plan gives Bucknell a strategy for the development of its campus in conjunction with the University’s long-term strategic goals while strengthening connections between Bucknell, the town of Lewisburg, and the Susquehanna River.
The Plan creates a framework for interdisciplinary academic programs by creating facilities that foster collaboration between departments. A 70-year land use plan evaluates current and future building needs and plans for environmentally sensitive development, including assessment of future building sites and storm water management issues. Improvements to open spaces on campus, including the historic quadrangle, are dictated by a set of guidelines for development outlined in the Plan. The Plan identifies a need for a wide variety of housing options, an interdisciplinary arts facility with exhibition space, expansion of athletic facilities, and additional administrative space.
