Medical College of Georgia, Medical School Campus Master Plan
Augusta, GA | 2008
The Master Plan is designed to foster connections not only within the campus, but in the context of its urban setting. Its implementation not only reinforces the College’s commitment to medical education, but to its role as a social and economic engine for the community. The Plan gives the College tools to create an integrated academic, research, and residential complex; establish strong physical statements at its multiple entrances; and create physical and visual connections. Its five-year framework is supported by a longer vision for the development not only of the immediate campus but for possible development of satellite campuses, and offers real value in terms of the College’s competitiveness among its peers. Mirroring the integration of teaching, research, and clinical programs in practice, the Plan proposes parallel integration of these disciplines in the academic context.
