Interior designer (5-10 years experience)

We are seeking an interior designer to join our practice who thrives in a highly creative and collaborative environment. Responsibilities include participation in all phases of a project including but not limited to conceptual design, space planning, architectural interior detailing – including millwork and RCPs, development of finish and furniture concepts, and writing furniture specifications. Knowledge of lighting is a plus. Additionally, this role includes the opportunity to lead and mentor internal team members, and communicate with clients.

Project Support

As part of the administrative support team, project support members are responsible for organizing, coordinating and prioritizing project assignments to meet the needs of project teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact and provide proactive support for team and members.
  • Act as a liaison with the client and consultants.
  • Answer staff questions, be resourceful and point individuals in the right direction as needed.  
  • Provide IT support on an as needed basis for teams. i.e. format issues, computer technical issues, etc.
  • Maintain project team calendars.
  • Organize and promote team activities.
  • Distribute materials – physically and/or electronically.
  • Provide Construction Administration support such as posting of drawings, filing, logging in and distribution of Submittals, Bulletins and Document Control.

We have an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager in our Boston office to join our bright, energetic, and dedicated marketing and BD team. In this role you’ll work closely with our higher education leaders as a strategic thinking partner. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with principals in developing and executing an annual business plan, including the determination of target markets/clients, strategies to penetrate same or new markets/clients, and identifying the tasks necessary to achieve the firm’s revenue goals and objectives.
  • Research, qualify, and prioritize new business leads.
  • Develop and maintain contact with clients and other referral networks such as contractors, engineers, architects, and others who can assist in the pursuit of new work.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of directly applicable experience in the A/E/C industry in a design-focused environment preferred
  • Experience and enthusiasm for cultivating relationships with industry contacts
  • Experience crafting and executing Business Development plans

Summary:

The receptionist is the first impression of our office and is responsible for greeting visitors and answering the telephone efficiently while being calm, courteous and demonstrating a professional demeanor.  As part of the administrative support team, the receptionist will also be responsible for general office support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answer inquiries about Shepley Bulfinch and its products or services.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls.
  • Greet guests and direct them as appropriate.
  • Assume some security guard access control functions by observing and reporting any unusual or suspicious persons or activities.
  • Opens the office in the morning.
