Desktop Support Engineer

The Desktop Support Engineer will work as a part of a small IT team to provide a superior end user experience for employees, with an emphasis on customer service. This role will be remote with occasional travel to local and firm wide studios. This role has a preference of being located in the Houston area but open to other locations. 

  

The successful candidate is seeking a role in the technology field is curious and motivated to learn and keep up with changes in technology relevant to their position, can effectively work with a small tight knit team and is also self-directed enough to pursue individual projects. They should have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical problems and instructions to end users in terms that are easy for them to understand.

  

Key responsibilities:  

  • Resolve tickets related to performance and function of endpoints, peripherals, mobile devices, and virtual desktops
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, identify root cause, and solve
  • Install and Configure desktop computer hardware, software and peripherals using standard procedures
  • Package, Deploy and Update software using Microsoft Intune
  • Troubleshoot VPN and remote connection issues (WFH, travel, client sites)
  • Troubleshoot problems with Office 365 applications (primarily Outlook and Teams)
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Support Azure Virtual Desktops, and Troubleshoot application and performance issues
  • Create Automation to update and configure endpoints and virtual desktops (GPO, Intune, scripting)
  • Manage endpoint updates to ensure consistency within the fleet
  • Maintain an up-to-date and compliant environment (AD, Azure AD, Microsoft 365 Security, Intune)
  • Create and update documentation for others in the team, and end users

  

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of Windows Desktop Support experience required
  • Experience with AD, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Intune required
  • Experience with Batch and PowerShell scripting desired
  • Ability to remotely troubleshoot network and software issues on endpoints
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience expected; CompTIA Network+ or equivalent preferred
  • Interest in architecture or design recommended
