Life at Shepley

Ego free design

We are invested in developing people and playing to our individual and shared strengths—fostering a culture of mentorship and leadership. We value building each other up and implementing learning that is wide and deep.

For more than 10 years, Bulfinches have summited Mt. Washington.

Hybrid forward

As a national architecture firm, our hybrid culture ensures technology, design resources and subject matter experts are accessible to all team members, regardless of physical location.

We are equipped to support in person and remote collaboration as our culture, systems, and design tools were built for flexible working styles. Our national cross-studio structure promotes collaboration, with projects staffed by skillset and expertise.

We are lead donors for NOMA and Project Pipeline, programs that expose middle and high school minority students to design through a series of educational architectural programs.

Building Bridges and Engaging Communities

We care about being engaged with the future of our profession and affecting change in our communities. We encourage our colleagues to participate in their communities by offering 8+ hours a year for community service.

The Mother Caroline program is for girls in an urban tuition free school in the Boston Dorchester neighborhood.
We partnered with Cahokia, the first indigenous women-owned social tech and art space, on space planning and design for their dynamic environment to support their mission.
