Principal

I am a “third culture kid”–born in Libya and raised in both Pakistan and Iowa – and during my professional life I have worked across the US and in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. I am a devout generalist who believes in treating every project as a unique opportunity to create something meaningful and beautiful.

The people for whom I’m designing have always been the strongest influence on my work, and I have learned that my ability to listen and understand is more valuable than any formal education I have had. Great architecture considers the impact of identity and culture on design, and I always aim to approach the work with healthy doses of passion, patience, and empathy.

Driven by a passion for equity, I believe that all people deserve great architecture. Every project is a new opportunity to have a meaningful and lasting impact on individuals, communities, and the planet we all share.
