Mark Boone, AIA
I’ve always been fascinated with how things are put together. My father was an architect in Abilene, Texas, and growing up, I gained an understanding of how a building evolved from concept to reality by working summer odd-jobs at his firm: running prints, binding sets, properly folding submittal prints, parallel bar and triangles, and practicing hand and Leroy lettering.
In high school, I worked construction, growing from a common laborer up to mason’s helper. The field experience taught me how important it is to clearly document and communicate design intent on paper for those who must execute on the job site.
Today, my greatest professional satisfaction comes from guiding the process from design through construction, to deliver a project that exceeds both client and user expectations. And, I’m always up for a challenge; that’s what makes it fun for me.
