John Jessen is the world’s foremost subject matter expert in the planning, design, and delivery of proton therapy facilities. With over 40 years of architectural experience—including more than 30 years focused exclusively on proton therapy—John has served as Principal Architect and Lead Planner for over three dozen proton therapy centers across the United States and internationally.
John brings unmatched expertise in addressing the technical and logistical challenges of building high-performance proton centers—especially within complex academic medical environments. He has deep experience with IBA’s Proteus One system and has led the successful integration of proton vaults beneath hospital towers, coordinated major equipment upgrades, and guided owner and vendor teams through every stage of delivery.
