Maki Duan

Designer

"Great design isn't just something we see—it's something people feel every day. I enjoy creating spaces where thoughtful details quietly improve everyday life, great spaces influence how people feel, connect, and belong."

Maki is a designer whose background bridges landscape architecture and architecture. She began her career in China as a landscape designer, working on mixed-use, residential, and commercial projects. After transitioning to architecture in the United States, her work has centered on healthcare and higher education.
She believes that thoughtful design has the power to improve everyday experiences and enjoys creating spaces that are both functional and welcoming. Drawn to projects where design can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, Maki values collaboration, attention to detail, and continuous learning throughout the design process.
