Boston Real Estate Times: Do You Know Boston’s Oldest Continuously Operating Architecture Firm?
Boston Real Estate Times highlights Shepley Bulfinch’s legacy of trailblazing design solutions. As New England’s longest-operating architecture firm and one of Boston’s largest by revenue, the firm continues to influence the region through complex institutional projects in higher education, healthcare, and urban development. The publication shared that our design philosophy emphasizes customized solutions over standardized templates.
BRET reported on the firm’s influence in the industry, as for over 20 years, the firm has been women-led, currently under President and CEO Angela Watson, FAIA, LEED AP, marking its second consecutive female chief executive. They showcased a recent project, the renovation of Wellesley College’s historic Clapp Library, a building the firm originally designed in 1910 and later expanded in 1956 and 1974. The new renovation modernizes the library while preserving its architectural heritage.
