Today’s historic approval of Nevada’s first stand alone pediatric hospital, by the Clark County Commission, will forever change healthcare in Southern Nevada. The significant investment being made by Intermountain will save lives while diversifying our economy.
Developed by Intermountain Health in collaboration with the UNLV Research Foundation, the hospital will be located at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology Park. The project is planned as an approximately 200-bed facility employing thousands of caregivers, bringing both expanded healthcare access and economic impact to the region.
Renderings unveiled as part of the approval process highlight design work by Shepley Bulfinch and Gensler, offering an early look at the future of pediatric care in the state. The hospital represents a rare opportunity to redefine pediatric care in a historically underserved region, bringing care closer to home for families who have often had to travel long distances to access specialized services. The design advances a purpose-built environment dedicated to support children, families, and care teams—an investment not only in a building, but in the future of healthcare in Southern Nevada.
